Found in The Hague at an old grocery store! A mechanical calculator by Brunsviga from the first half of the 20th century. The forerunner of the electrical and digital calculators.

Brunsviga Maschinenwerke Grimme, Natalis & Co AG is the company from 1871 that originally made sewing machines and household appliances. When engineer Franz Trinks took over the patent of the famous William Odhner calculators in 1892 (Arithmometer) Grimme, Natalis & Co started making calculators under the name of Brunsviga. Brunviga is Latin for Braunschweig, the place where this calculator was made. The company name contains AG which stands for Aktiengesellschaft. This machine was later renamed Olympia.

This heavy calculator works very well for its age. Of course there are traces of age present. The calculator is also decoratively very interesting due to its robust tough army green appearance and fits due to its size on a desk or in a cupboard and invites a conversation.

    18×20×30 (cm) Weight: 7.5 kg.

Now that we are working more from home and sometimes, if possible, we set up a separate room for it, it is also time to create a nice room. What do you need? That depends on what you like.
